Moore Hall Walled Garden is situated in west Mayo, two miles from the village of Carnacon. This leaves it in the centre of a triangle marked by Castlebar, Claremorris and Ballinrobe.
The Moore Hall Walled Garden covers an area of 1.8 acres. The Garden is enclosed by a 3.6m high wall. A recently-restored Dovecote sits in the south east corner. Currently the garden has a wildflower meadow with meandering mown paths.
Outside the Garden, you can enjoy 3km of comfortable forest trails with some interesting wood carvings along the way and you can read about the history of Moore Hall and the Special Area of Conservation (SAC) on interesting interpretation boards. If you have some young children they will find lots to do amongst the trees on elements of wooden play along the way.
