Westport Community Garden began in 2009. A major development in 2017 was securing funding from Local Agenda 21 for the provision of a polytunnel which produced its first crop in 2018, and is a major addition to the Community Garden. We have a great working group at present, people are free to bring up suggestions, try new things and to be sociable, especially since we now have a lovely new shed that one can sit in! The garden contains vegetables, fruit trees, flowers, and is expanding, and we hope to have a nature reserve in the future. New-comers are welcome. We meet on Tuesday and Thursday between 10.00 and 1.00.

We run workshops occasionally. They usually run for 6 weeks. The session lasts 2 hours. The last 6 courses have been run on Thursdays but if there is enough demand, they could take place on Saturdays.

On the Open Days at 1pm, there will be a demonstration of how to make a spiral herb garden, and a talk about the benefits of a wormery at 1pm. Bring your own cup if you want a cuppa!
