Sonas Garden has evolved to encourage wildlife, providing habitat for nesting birds and small mammals, as well as provisions for pollinators. Equally important has been the design of social spaces for people to sit and enjoy the garden, in addition to open air dining and socialising. The approx 1 acre garden includes a pond, native hedgerows and wildflowers, restored stone buildings and as much colourful planting as weather permits.

Directions / Treoracha: 

From Charlestown, take the N17 to Knock Airport, turning right onto the R376. Approx 1 km on the right, you will see a lay-by, and immediately before the lay-by is a small road bringing you downhill to a T-junction. Turn right, follow the signs, and the cottage is on the left.
